In less than 2 weeks...

My baby will turn 2.

It just doesn't seem possible that it's already been 2 years since he's blessed us with his presence. What was life like before he arrived? I can't really remember and it doesn't even matter because life is so much better now that he's here.

Today I got to hold a 3.5 month old baby girl at my local yarn shop. She cried at first but then promptly fell asleep in my arms after a bit of rocking & patting on the back (I have to admit it felt good that I still have the knack for soothing an itty-bitty). It doesn't seem so long ago that Ande was her size, but yet, I can't really remember him being that small. The last 2 years have been such a blur of learning, growing, changing, and adapting that it's hard to think about anything besides what's happening at the moment.

Yesterday, Ande took off his dirty diaper and gave it to Lorel, which is a sure sign that Potty Training is on our horizon. Off to buy a potty chair soon...and I think as soon as he is trained (at least somewhat) we will be ready to expand our family again! Am I crazy for wanting another so soon? After holding that sweet baby girl in my arms this afternoon, and seeing her 20 month old sister say "baby sissy! baby sissy!" I'm really, really looking forward to giving Ande a baby sister or brother (so is Lorel). We'll see what happens!

I'm home!

Well, the "May Travel Madness" is officially over. Ande and I returned home from St. Louis last night which ended the last 30+ days of us traveling all over the place. Here's a recap of all my crazy trips:

April 30 thru May 4: Natalie's bachelorette party weekend in San Diego

May 13 thru May 19: Trip to Las Vegas for my graduation ceremony from CSN.

May 22 thru May 30: Trip to St. Louis for Ashley's graduation party and to visit friends & relatives.
I think I was home a total of 12 days the whole month. That's a lot of traveling! I love it - although the flight home from Las Vegas was horrible. Worst turbulence/airline hell I've endured in a very long time! I'm boycotting USAirways.

I don't have time to post any pictures at the moment because I have a million things to take care of before I leave for Newport Beach on June 11th for Natalie's wedding (such as get the a/c fixed in my car, take Zoey to the vet for her annual shots, plan Ande's 2nd birthday party, get my hair cut, go to the dentist, take my car for emissions testing, write a speech, and not to mention try and get some work done). But after I return (and after Ande's birthday/party) I will post pictures to recap all of my trips!

Less than a month til he turns 2!

Lovely Loops

I've been busy crocheting in whatever spare time I can find (usually at night after Ande goes to sleep) and have a few things listed in my Etsy store. If you don't already know about my store, it's called Lovely Loops - check it out by clicking here. I also have a blog, which you can read by clicking here. I have many ideas and new creations in the works and I will be listing some new things very soon, so be sure to check out Lovely Loops!

You have got to be kidding me!

It's April 5th, already two weeks into Spring, and it's currently 34 degrees and snowing outside. Ugggggggghhhh! This winter has overstayed its welcome for sure.

On a happier note, there's only 10 more days left of tax season! Hooray! Then everything will slow down at work and it won't be so hectic and crazy. And, it'll only be 2 more weeks until "May Madness" when all the fun traveling begins - I can't wait! I have so much happening in May that I will only be home for Mother's Day weekend - all other weekends I will be somewhere else other than Chicago.

"May Madness" will actually kick off on April 30th when I fly to San Diego for Natalie's bachelorette party! Annie (my co-maid of honor, or "co-moh") and I have a lot of REALLY fun things planned for the weekend and we hope to make it memorable for Natalie. She threw me a fantastic bachelorette party in Las Vegas back in September 2004 so it's important to me that I return the favor! I can't give out any details since she reads my blog, but all I can say is it will be a weekend she'll never forget!!

One of the highlights of the month of May is that I will be graduating from college!! Well, technically I graduated last summer and I even have my diploma framed and mounted on the wall above my desk at work, but I decided to participate in my college's graduation ceremony in Las Vegas next month! Who knows when I will be able to go back to school to earn my bachelors degree (if ever) so I might as well celebrate all the hard work and effort (and money!)that went into earning my associates degree. Lorel is even flying out the day before graduation so that he can be there too, which I'm esctatic about!

Once May is over, it's only 2 more weeks until Natalie's wedding! Sheesh, it seems like it was just yesterday she was here in Chicago for Ande's baptism when Jed proposed. It's amazing how fast time flies! I'm so excited for her because I know she's been looking forward to her big day for a very long time now. She's put an awful lot of planning and personal touches into her wedding day and I'm so excited to see how it all turns out. It's going to be so much fun and I'm so honored that I will be able to stand right next to her and witness she and Jed say their vows and exchange rings! I only wish Lorel could be able to attend also but unfortunately he has final exams the exact same day as the wedding. Great timing, huh?

That about sums up everything that's going on around here lately!

Why Not Try It All?

Lorel wrote & recorded this song and then made a "music video" for it.
